1988    Liquid Hippos - Shellac The Bozak    LP

Greg Dulli plays harmonica on "Unicorn Hop", the last track on the album. Five tracks on the album, including "Unicorn Hop", were recorded by John Curley at Ultrasuede. Michael Horrigan plays drums.

1990    Love Cowboys - Bigpaw    CD

Features Greg Dulli as the "cool low guy" on the song "Horticulture". John Curley did production work on the album, most of which was recorded at Ultrasuede and released on CD and tape by Ultrasuede Records. Michael Horrigan played bass in the Love Cowboys.

1991    Various Artists - Guitarrorists    CD

Compilation of solo guitar work, with tracks of Rick McCollum, J.Mascis, Thurston Moore, Marcy Mays et al. Rick contributed "Spider Plum".The liner notes in the booklet identify him as the "Dogtree satellite seer for the next wave of arena rock giants, Afghan Whigs".

1991    Ornament    7"

Ornament was a one time collaboration between the Afghan Whigs and Scrawl vocalist Marcy Mays. The band recorded "Tonight" (a different version than the one on Congregation) and "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", both released on this single.

1991    Bullet LaVolta - Swandive    CD

Greg Dulli did backing vocals on "Ceiling Life", the last track on this album.

1993-2001    Len's Lounge    essential discography

John Curley's "band beside the Whigs", lead by Jeff Roberson (vocals/guitar). John played bass in this band off and on for a couple of years, as well as production work. A few lineups of the band included Michael Horrigan, both on bass and drums.

1994    Throneberry - Sangria    CD

Greg Dulli did backup vocals on "Touched", the opening track on the album. "Touched" was also released as a single, by the way. Later line-ups of Throneberry (an offspring of the Liquid Hippos) include Michael Horrigan.

1994    Backbeat Band    essential discography

Although not actually present in the movie "Backbeat", Greg Dulli has a major part as the "voice of John Lennon" on the movie soundtrack. The lineup of the Backbeat Band also included Don Fleming, Dave Grohl (Scream, Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Mike Mills (REM), Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) and Dave Pirner (Soul Asylum).

1995    Foo Fighters - same    CD

Dave Grohl did all instruments and vocals for the first (untitled) Foo Fighters album, except for Greg Dulli's guitar part in the song "X-static".

1995    Big Trouble House - Killing And Drinking Songs    CD

After leaving the Afghan Whigs, Steve Earle played drums in Big Trouble House for a while. He appears on five songs on this album, which were recorded in John Curley's Ultrasuede studio. Greg Dulli and Rick McCollum throw in a couple of guest spots. Big Trouble House was lead by Phil Harder, who directed a handful of video clips for the Afghan Whigs.

1995    Paul K & The Weathermen - Achilles Heel    CD

Steve Earle is whistling on "Golden Opportuniy", the 4th track of this album, which was recorded at Ultrasuede in Cincinnati, OH and co-produced by John Curley.

1996    Howlin' Maggie - Honeysuckle Strange    CD

Greg Dulli appears as 'diva' on "How The West Was Won". Howlin' Maggie was lead by Harold Chichester, who contributed keyboard and vocals to numerous Afghan Whigs releases, as well as touring with them as a 'fifth' member. Michael Horrigan played drums in the last HM lineup (2002).

1997    Denis Leary - Lock 'n Load    CD

Greg dulli co-wrote the title track of Lock 'n Load, the second album of comedian Denis Leary, as well as playing guitar, keyboards and piano on a number of songs. Michael Horrigan played drums and bass.

1999    Roundhead - Creature Comfort    CD

Barbara Hunter played cello with the Afghan Whigs on numerous occasions (both studio and live), and also has her own band, Roundhead. Creature Comfort was recorded at Ultrasuede. John Curley added loops and electronics, Greg Dulli may have contributed some guitar and keyboard.

1999    More Oar: A Tribute To The Skip Spence Album    CD

Greg Dulli contributed the song "Dixie Peach Promenade (Yin For Yang)" to this compilation CD, containing cover versions of the songs from Alexander 'Skip' Spence's solo album Oar (1969). Also features tracks by Robert Plant, Beck, Tom Waits, Mudhoney, Mark Lanegan, et al. Greg played all the instruments, as well as producing the song.

2000-present    The Twilight Singers    full discography

The first Twilight Singers project started off in Greg's bedroom in February, 1997, and was finished in Hull (UK) three years later with the help of Fila Brazillia. Greg Dulli, Harold Chichester, Shawn Smith, et al. Widely spread bootlegs of the first draft of the album. Michael Horrigan did drums and backing vocals. In 2003, the story continues with a new album and a new lineup.

2001    Mystery Addicts - Unluck And Shame    CD

Produced by John Curley, who also played organ on this album.

2001-present    Todd Almond    selected discography

John Curley plays bass on the albums "Try To Hear, Try To Say" (2001) and "Deep North Woods" (2003) from multi-talent Todd Almond. The bigger part for the last one was "recorded in the cold woods of New Hampshire" in January 2003, and features Michael Horrigan on drums.

2002    Hermano - Only A Suggestion...    CD

Steve Earle's last band, together with original Black Republicans bass player Steve Brown, John Garcia, David Angstrom and Mike Callahan. The better part of this album was recorded at Ultrasuede, with John Curley mixing. Steve left the band in June or July, 2003.

2002    Lo Fidelity Allstars - Don't Be Afraid Of Love    CD

Greg Dulli sang and played guitar on the track "Somebody Needs You", and is also credited as a co-writer of the song.

2002    All Systems Go! - Mon Chi Chi    CD

The song "Fascination Unknown", also the first single for the album, was co-written by Greg Dulli. He doesn't appear as a musician on the album, though. So no details here.

2002    Susan Marshall - Susan Marshall Is Honey Mouth    CD

Susan Marshall's first solo CD. Greg Dulli co-wrote "Act That Way" and "October Song", as well as playing guitar on the first title. "Let You In" was recorded during the 1965 sessions in New Orleans and features Rick McCollum, John Curley and Mike Horrigan as the backing band.

2003    Muggs - Dust    CD

Greg Dulli recorded "Fat City" with Muggs (Cypress Hill) for his first solo album, Dust. Recorded during the sessions for Blackberry Belle, the second Twilight Singers album, that includes a 'slight return' of the song.

2003    Staggering Statistics - CD Single No. 1    CDS

John Curley's new band started out end 2002 and have been playing around Cincinnati since the summer of 2003. The first two songs they recorded, were put on a DIY CD given away at the support show for the Twilight Singers on November 11, 2003.

2003    Mark Lanegan Band - Here Comes That Weird Chill    EP

Greg Dulli sings backup on two tracks of this EP. Planned to be the preceding single for Lanegan's album "Bubblegum", the released grew out to an EP with the subtitle ''Methamphetamine Blues, Extras & Oditties'', containing 9 tracks.
